About Me:
I am originally from Lethbridge Alberta, born and raised in the wind swept southern foothills of the Rockies, but now I call BC my home. I love to ski, mountain bike, play music, read, game, and cook; I recently took up kettlebells as my new hobby. This coming season will be my sixth with Summit and I am STOKED to be getting back to the bush. Planting trees is one of my favourite things to do and I spend all winter itching to get back out and lead my crew through another fantastic season. I am a sucker for punishment and revel the opportunity to prove myself over and over. Iron sharpens iron and I feel like rocks probably do too. Planting is the place to be if you want to make a pile of money; have a ton of fun; and try something so outrageous, that you will forever struggle to explain to your friends/family just what it is you do and just how many bugs you swallowed doing it. |
Industry Experience:
I have five years of planting experience with Summit, and some experience on the coast planting the slashy-slopes of Vancouver Island. I have been a member of many very successful and well lead crews; all of which have taught me the value of a killer work ethic, the importance of strong team members, and the basics on being a top end planter. I have planted all across BC and Alberta; from Fort Nelson to Williams Lake, Fort McMurray to High Level, and a number of other beautiful lakes and locals.
What I expect from my planters:
Honesty – Being straightforward and open about who you are, how you like to interact and work with others, your strengths and weaknesses, your goals, and your own expectations allow for everyone to build trust and lasting
relationships.
Commitment – Planting trees is a HUGE commitment. A commitment first to yourself; to come out of your comfort zone, into the wilderness, and do something few people would ever dream of. Second, to the rest of the crew. We live and work together all summer, and we need each other to make it through the rainy days. Supporting and pushing one another to hit new bests is what we need to do to cultivate success.
Leadership – As individuals, I expect you to conduct yourself in a manner which reflects well on both you and those around you. I admire those who go out of their way to make a difference for someone who needs help and I hope to have a crew full of people willing to take initiative.
Hard work! - It takes a lot of sweat, blood, and tears to succeed as a planter. There is no perfect recipe for success, but effort is paramount. Nothing builds confidence and personal pride like knowing you conquered a goal
through effort.
What my planters can expect from me:
In addition to the above you can expect me to do everything in my power to see you succeed. I love tree planting and I love seeing my fellow crew members happy and productive. You can expect me to lead by example; there is nothing I will ask you do to do that I have not done or would not do myself, and I will be putting in 110% effort every day. You can expect me to be organized, keeping you busy and ensuring you have the best opportunity to earn and learn. In my years of planting I learned a lot, and the most important thing is that the learning never stops. Every day is a new experience and a new challenge. I hope to learn and evolve into the best possible crew boss I can be and teaching those around me to be the best possible planter is the goal at the top of my list.
If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding way to make lots of money and meet amazing people, want to experience something new, enjoy having fun in the mud and rain, or just want to get outdoors, please contact me!
