Jonny Brushett
About Me: I am a life-long traveler and surfer. I love good food, books, and music. Tree planting has been the best job to accommodate all of my hobbies and goals. I live in beautiful Victoria, BC when I am not on adventures. Recently I returned to school to study nursing, which is another activity that coincides perfectly with tree planting.
Summit History:
This will be my 12th season with Summit! I started as a planter in the trenches literally, then became a foreman, and had a lot of fun running my own excellent crew for five seasons, now I am entering my 4th year as a camp supervisor. I still work with a bunch of the same people I started out with years ago and they have become like a second family. I actually met my future wife at summit! It is safe to say I have been very happy working for Summit.
Hobbies:
As mentioned before I have an addiction to surfing and traveling. I also really enjoy trekking, mountain biking, ski-touring, reading, and cooking (but more the eating!).

Expectations:
Happy planters plant more trees! It is something of a mantra that the company has adopted over the years, although I am pretty sure I started it. Stay positive, have fun, and smile even when it hurts - do this and a job that is incredible difficult will get a little easier. However, smiling is not enough to succeed, you need to work as hard as you can everyday – tree planting is a perfect example of ‘you get out what you put in’.
