About Me
I’m Thomas! I was born and raised in North Vancouver, BC. The last couple years I have been living on Vancouver island with various other planters/friends. Growing up I spent a lot of my time in the mountains hiking and snowboarding. This is where I found my passion for the outdoors! There’s nothing quite like escaping the hustle and bustle of civilization to experience the rawness of the great unknown. After high school, I spent about a year in Australia and Bali surfing and living by the beach. I started planting three years ago, after finishing university for Outdoor Recreational Leadership. Since the start of this unbelievable journey I have loved every minute of it. From the friends you make, to the places you go. Every day is a new adventure, and a series of everlasting memories to be had. |
Industry Experience
I started planting in 2020. Before I even started I had heard so much about it. All the stories of wild animals, crazy storms, and whacky nights off really sparked a flame in me. Ever since day one I have pushed myself mentally and physically. Testing the boundaries of what I can achieve as a person and planter. After three seasons I’m happy to say that there really is no limit. Last season I was one of the top production planters in the company thanks to this work ethic. Along with this, I was Assistant Crew Boss, spending a lot of time learning the ropes of what it takes to manage a crew.
What you can expect from me
You do not work for me, I work for you. I will do my best every day to make sure my planters
season goes as smoothly as possible. I want to maximize your potential, so you can have the best day possible and come home with a feeling of satisfaction like no other. I also recognize that everyone has their own reasons for being there, and I want to adapt and focus on each planter as an individual to help them grow as a person and a planter.
What I expect from you
I expect my planters to have good vibes and a healthy attitude towards working hard. You’re
going to get dirty, you’re going to be tired, but it’s how you react to these feelings that determines if you have a successful season or not. I also expect respect towards other planters, management, and myself. To recognize that everyone is there to work and has their own challenges to overcome. To hold yourself accountable for mistakes, but not be afraid to
make those mistakes. This is the backbone of learning. How are you going to learn and grow if you don’t mess up a few times on the way? I believe following these expectations for both me, and my planters will help pave the way to forming not just an amazing crew, but a family.
Favourite Movie: any Lord of the RIngs
Favourite Book: Name of The Wind, By Patrick Rothfus
