About Me:
I am from Ottawa, Ontario. As a kid, I spent a good part of my summers in Muskoka, where I found my love for the outdoors. I spent most of my time there in the bush, hiking, boating, fishing and atv’ing. After high school, I completed my apprenticeship in General Carpentry and earned my red seal. After several years working as a carpenter, I wanted something more, so I went tree planting and haven't looked back since. Now, I plant trees in the summers, and I enjoy many activities in the off-season. I really enjoy travelling and have driven across Canada 3 times, and have developed a real appreciation for the beauty of this country. I have also spent several months motorbiking in Vietnam, which is a spectacular country. I met many very friendly people and discovered that you don’t have to share a common language to communicate. Also during the off-season, I do some carpentry work here and there, and enjoy learning new sports, such as rock climbing and backcountry skiing. |
Industry Experience:
This will be my 5th season with Summit. As a planter, I was the crew first-aider as well as a driver. I have been fortunate to work for a very high production crew with strong leadership. Our team had a very positive attitude and we developed lasting relationships. I also spent a season as a checker, which taught me much of the ins and outs of tree planting. It was a great stepping stone for a smooth transition into running my own crew.
Expectations for my crew:
I expect crew members to have a positive attitude, to support fellow crew members, and to be respectful of everyone on the team and in camp. Tree planters not only have to work hard, but have to push past their perceived mental and physical limits.
What you can expect from me:
I have a strong work ethic and will lead by example. I will never expect more of you than I expect from myself. I will support the crew in having a successful planting season and will build morale and encourage a community atmosphere. Safety will always be a number one priority.
Favourite Movie:
The Matrix
Favourite Quote:
