About Me
I was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the one and only Dayton, Ohio. I returned to Canada in 2017 and spent the last few years traveling and attending a couple universities. In 2018, I fell into planting as a plan B and haven't stopped to look back. I currently live in Smithers, BC where I work in forestry and keep busy in my free time through split-boarding, skunking my friends in crib, some personal projects, and trying to make others laugh. As a planter, I fell in love with this industry because it surrounds me with what I value the most—community, hard work, and collaboration. As a crewboss, I now get to help others have the same experience. I love my job! |
Industry Experience:
This will be my sixth season with Summit. I had three very successful seasons as a planter, and I finished the 2020 season ranked as the number one planter in the company. I began crew-bossing in 2021 and have had two great seasons. I am extremely proud to have run a tightly-knit crew of pounders and I can’t wait to do it all over again.
What planters can expect of me:
My goal for each season is to foster a crew that loves to pound together on the block and celebrate together in camp.
● Safety - The wellbeing of my crew is my top priority.
● Communication - I work with transparency in goals, instructions, and expectations.
● Work ethic - I love to work hard!
● Inclusiveness - I am a firm believer in the strengths of diversity.
● Dedication to my planters - I do everything I can to make your job easier and to maximize your planting time.
My expectations of planters:
I lead by example. In everything my planters can expect of me, I expect of them in return.
● Respect - In the bush, those around you will become your family. There is room for nothing but respect on my crew.
● Safety - Take care of yourself, take care of each other, and we will have a great season.
● Attitude - Tree planting is hard. Really hard. Keeping a positive attitude is crucial to yourself and the crew.
● Communication - Be open with me about the good and the bad. This is how we will understand and learn from each other.
● Work ethic - I am looking for goal-oriented people who hold high expectations of themselves.
Tree planting and block logistics is what I am best at. For vets looking to improve their planting, I am excited to teach you everything I know. For keen rookies looking to get started, I have everything you need to be successful. I am passionate about coaching and mentoring, and looking forward to what the future has in store. Get in touch with me and let’s do something great.
