About Me:
I was born and raised in a small town in B.C, where I got my love for adventure and the outdoors. I’ve recently graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa with a B.A in Sociology with a concentration in Law. I am currently living in Victoria B.C where I am working on getting my paramedics licence. When I am not in school, working or in the middle of a pandemic you can find me somewhere warm; either in the water on my surfboard or on the beach with a good book. I’ve been around planting most of my life; I started planting at 16 and haven’t missed a season since. Tree planting has taught me that if you work hard and surround yourself with good people you can achieve anything!! What I love about planting is that you actively get to see your hard work rewarded; if you choose to put in the work and push yourself than you will end your season having achieved all your goals. |
Industry Experience:
This is will be my 3.5th year as a crew boss and my 8th year in the industry. During my first two seasons I came out after high school for the month of July. Since then I’ve completed three full seasons as a planter; I also took on the responsibility of driver and rookie trainer. Halfway through my third season I was given the opportunity to run a six-pack. The last two seasons I’ve been running full crews of 18 who kick-ass on and off the block. I am looking forward to crew bossing another amazing team in the upcoming 2021 season.
Expectations:
What I expect from you I expect from myself; I am a firm believer in leading by example.
Good Work Ethic – I will be giving it 100% every day and I expect you to do the same, this job is hard, and you need to be willing to put in the work.
Motivation – I expect you to have your own personal goals, and I expect you to achieve them. I will be here to support you, but you will need to be able to motivate yourself to achieve your goals.
Perseverance – Not going to sugar coat it, there will be days you will want to quit; but pushing through those days is what makes this job so satisfying.
Respect – This not only means respect for your crew, but it also means respect for yourself and everyone around you. Tree planting is not only a job it is also a community.
Communication – To work effectively as a team communication is crucial; this will allow us to understand and help each other.
Support – We are a team.
Goal for next season:
My goal is to have the best crew and season possible! I take pride in putting together a team that is both hardworking, fun and safe. My primary focus is to foster a fun and safe environment both on and off the block. I will work my hardest to help you achieve your personal and financial goals, meaning I will aim to have full days, lots of trees and a tone of fun. If we end up working together this summer you can expect to end this season with lifelong memories and good friends, but most importantly, a killer bank account. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
