About Me:
Hi, I’m Klara! :) I grew up in the Eastern Townships outside of Montreal, QC on a family farm with six siblings. The outdoors has been ingrained into my life from the start and I often seek out the adventures that it has to offer. Such as a 56-day Whitewater canoe trip in Northern Yukon and 3 years being in the bush for tree planting. I enjoy the physical and mental dedication that is required to achieve success, and the reward that follows. FYI - don’t worry about how my last name is written or pronounced :) |
Industry Experience:
This will be my fourth year in the bush and 2nd year as a foreman. There is something about tree planting that keeps me wanting more - the people, the crew/camp life, and the drive to push myself harder and become a better leader and person.
What planters can expect from me:
As a second-year foreman, my goal is to continue to dedicate myself to my planters so they get the most out of their season. I will facilitate an environment of trust and hard work so that my planters feel happy and successful at the end of their season. I will push you beyond what you believe to be your capabilities. Tree planting is not an easy job by any means, but it certainly is a fun environment to be in, both mentally and physically.
My priorities:
● Safety – A topic that I will address every day and make sure all my planters are aware of the dangers and precautions that need to be taken.
● Positive attitude - There’s nothing like a good laugh while problem solving.
● Hard work ethic - I will give you my best, every day, no matter what challenges I face.
What I expect from you:
● Communication - A key for success! If I know how you are doing mentally and physically, I can make you a better planter and support you in different ways.
● Respect - respect goes a long way out in the bush. We all have good and bad days, strengths and weaknesses but we are all equal on the crew.
● Positive attitude - I will be giving you my 110%, I need you to give me the same. I will expect from you what I expect from myself, and nothing more.
Favourite book:
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
