About me:
Hi I’m Kasey! I’m from the Okanagan Valley in BC, and grew up loving the outdoors. The first time I heard about tree planting I was immediately drawn to it and knew I was meant to do it. A few years later the stars aligned, I started planting and I have never looked back! Planting has changed me, and my life in countless ways. It has taught me to persevere through any situation and to always stay stoked because man, is it ever hard. Planting has allowed me more freedom financially, and in life in general. What real fun, connection, and community can truly look like (it's different than in the city). Industry Experience:
This will be my 5th season in the bush; 3 years as a planter, and this is my
second year as a crew boss. I was also camp first aid for 2.5 seasons, so I have tons of
knowledge about how to remedy common planting injuries, and proper planting technique, so
you can continue balling! :)
Expectations:
Safety is my #1 priority always. Tree planting can throw all sorts of potentially dangerous
situations at you, and it is my job to make those situations as safe as possible. I also need you
to consider safety too, for yourself, and those around you.
Hard Work: I will go to any length to make sure you have a great season! We are a family, and
it's my job to make sure you’re getting what you need from me to succeed. Planting is no joke,
and you should know that I have the work ethic needed to lead you through an awesome
season. I will give my 100%, and I expect your 100% in return. Expect to work harder than you
ever have before.
Communication: I am always open for discussion about literally anything. If you need
something different from me, if something feels unfair, if you need someone to talk to, if you just
wanna yap, I’m an open book. This is a two way street, communication is key, and being open
to constructive criticism is a must.
Positive Attitude: Crust quickly sheds off of me and I will be positive even in the worst of
times. It is important for morale to stay high, and for the crew to stay positive, this is everyone's
responsibility.
FUN: What makes planting so special is that we work hard and we play hard. Not only do I
want to create an environment where you can thrive as a planter, I also want you to have a
great experience. Planting is such a special part of my life and I want to spread that magic!
