About me:
Hi I’m Grace! I grew up in Ottawa before moving to Kingston, Ontario to study biotechnology at Queen’s University. After graduating, I headed west in my van and never looked back! When I’m not planting, you can find me travelling around in my van or snowboarding at Kicking Horse Mountain in Golden, BC. When I’m not outside, I’m probably knitting, doing yoga, or hanging out with all of my awesome friends that I met tree planting. My first season of planting was the hardest and most rewarding summer of my life. Since then, I learn more and more from it every year and go back simply because I love it. Planting has paid for all of my adventures and given me a community that I am so grateful for. |
Industry Experience:
I have 6 seasons of planting under my belt. Having planted in BC, AB, SK, and MB, I feel confident in succeeding on any type of contract I come across. As a planter I was also a primary driver, rookie trainer, camp first aider and assistant crewboss. I did this so I could feel as prepared as possible for the 2026 season where I will have my own crew for the first time.
What You Can Expect from Me:
I will do everything I can to ensure that you are safe and that you will succeed at this job. Tree planting is hard, but I have all the tips and tricks on how to do it well. Before the season I will help prepare you so you are confident going into the first day. During the season I will try my hardest to make every day go as smoothly as possible, so you can make as much money as possible.
I am also really fun (please believe me)! As a retired Summit fun committee member, I really want to bring the magic of planting to my crew because that’s what makes it so amazing. I think positivity is one of the most important traits in the bush, so I will do my best to foster a supportive and lively crew.
What I Expect From You
This job requires a lot of collaboration. If everybody is a team-player, everybody is happier and makes more money. I expect that you give everyone in camp the respect and kindness they deserve. During the season, time is money. I expect that you show up on time and ready to work every day. I will be working as hard as I can for you every day, so I expect that you do the same.
