About Me:
I’m originally from Vancouver Island, but I spent most of my childhood living just outside the small town of Mattawa, Ontario. Growing up, my mom worked in eco-tourism development and often brought me along for her canoe and field work trips.  Being outside in nature feels like coming home, which is why I love planting. When I graduated from high school, I moved out west and began the journey of learning who I am and what brings me joy in life. I quickly realised that I wanted to tree plant and study adventure tourism. This allowed me to work as a kayak guide and surf instructor for two seasons in beautiful Tofino, British Columbia. Guiding brought me a lot of fulfilment through helping others and leadership experience. Over the last four years, tree planting has allowed me to grow and achieve many of my dreams. It has funded my studies, travels in Nepal, Indonesia and Australia. It has also given me the free time and the finances to focus on my art and music practice in the off season. I would describe myself as an optimistic, giggly person who loves inspiring others to live their best life! In my first season planting, I pushed myself harder than I ever had in my entire life.  It instilled in me that I could achieve anything if I believed in myself.  As a crew boss, I want to help others achieve what they want and more from tree planting.

Work with Georgia
Industry Experience:
I have worked in the planting industry as a tree planter for four years. I’ve worked with summit for most of my planting career and was given many opportunities: rookie training, quad driver, and excellent land management training from my foreman. I’ve had the chance to plant in Alberta, British Columbia, Australia (Canadian Winter) and on the BC coast. Planting multiple contacts in BC and Alberta, I understand the challenges of different types of land and the expectations of how it should be planted. Coastal planting introduced me to a form of planting that requires you to move through steep and technical terrain. Lastly, my experience planting in the Australian heat trained me to understand the challenges of planting on hot days and staying hydrated. Planting in these different environments has allowed me to improve and diversify my planting abilities.  As a crew boss, I feel very confident in helping train and provide daily instructions to planters on my crew.

Crew Expectations:
1. Communication
• Communication determines the health of the crew mentally, socially and physically.
• If you are injured or experiencing pain while planting in anyway, I want to support you in resolving this issue.
• If you feel that you are not having your needs met, tell me and I will listen.
• I will be facilitating daily “check in periods ” where you can come to me before or after work and voice any concerns; positive and negative feedback is important to hear
• Speaking in a respectful and professional manner is none negotiable for me.
• You can expect me to treat every crew member with the highest level of respect which we all deserve to receive.
• Bullying and harassment is not permitted on the crew. I will give a warning to anyone who crosses this boundary on the crew. If the problem persists, I will ask you to leave.
2. Fun
• It’s important that we have lots of fun this season while also being safe and responsible.
• I expect only responsible use of legal drugs/alcohol.
• Water + sunscreen = fun in the sun
• Looking forward to organising lots of fun events: board games, mini tournaments and activities we can all do together!
3.Punctuality
• Showing up on time to morning meetings and to the truck at the end of the day is essential for us as a crew to be successful.
4. Honesty
• Building a trustworthy relationship with each member of the crew is important to me.
• I value honesty above all, I want everyone on the crew to be comfortable sharing their goals with me and what you think is getting in your way.
• I expect you to be honest about what you need from me as your crew boss so that we can both set ourselves up for success.
• I expect you to keep track of your tree numbers every day as you plant and always be accurate. There will be zero tolerance for over claiming or stashing trees. Always be honest about your numbers.
• If you are confused about something, please don’t hide it. You can always tell me and I will be happy to clarify things.
5. Mental health
• I value the mental health of each member of the crew, and I view it the same as physical health.
• How we speak to each other at work has a powerful impact on our emotions and overall wellbeing.
• If you are struggling with anything mental health related I will be available to help you at any point during the season.
• Whether you need someone to talk to or would like to access some of our available resources at camp, I am here to help.
• If you need to take a day off of work for mental health reasons that will always be okay.
• Let’s be supportive of one another and lift each other up.
• Stay on top of your selfcare. This means stretching, drinking enough water and speaking kindly to ourselves.

What you can expect from me:
Honesty
• I will be honest with you in answering all your questions.
Punctuality
• I will always be on time because I value your time.
Respect
• I will treat you with respect and kindness.
• I will address bullying and harassment issues immediately
Safety
• I will try my best every day to mitigate risk in the workplace and keep our crew safe.
Attitude
• I have an optimistic frame of mind and I love to laugh a lot.
• I don't like to dwell on things that are out of my control.
• That being said, I am still open to hold space when people need to talk about their struggles.
Hard work
• You can expect me to be working hard everyday.
• I don’t let failure scare me from trying my best.
• It’s important to work hard and know when to rest.
• Part of my work is having a solid self-care routine so you always feel supported by someone who takes care of them self.
Responsibility
• I will be organized so that the crew can have full planting days that run as smoothly as possible.
