About Me:
Hey, Im Félix! I grew up in Québec playing soccer, skateboarding, snowboarding, camping, and getting bullied by my older sister. Though for a long time, my main focus was video games. It ended up being much more lucrative than I expected as it taught me how to speak English and how to work as a team. My love for working hard playing hard, staying connected with my friends every day, and my natural competitive spirit helped me develop the skills I needed for manual labour in a team environment. In my later years, after nearly three years of working in construction, I started planting, and I quickly realized it appeals to me. It brought together everything I’d always been obsessed with in life. Since I started, this job has done nothing but create opportunities for me—from meeting some of my closest friends, to working across Canada and eventually pushing me to travel around the globe. I can say that planting has brought out the best in me and will keep doing so as long as I show up for it. |
Industry experience :
I started in 2023, I worked a bit extra every camp move that year and even did my drivers training mid-season to drive the 5 ton. My second year was my first as an ACB and primary driver. This is when I really became a well rounded planter who led multiple special missions and offered some training for the rookies. Coming into my third season I had one goal in mind; perfecting my planting, developing my leadership and learning the ropes of being a Crew Boss.
What to expect from me :
Safety. There’s nothing more important for me than getting you home safe. Proper technique, a safe environment and clear instructions goes a long way into making you a confident and trustworthy planter. I promised my mom I would not let me or anyone get hurt, I intend to keep my promise.
Efficiency. I’m working hard all day to make sure our operation goes as smoothly as possible. Nothing ruins your day like waiting for trees, I will do everything in my power to prevent that.
Communication / Teamwork. Everyone can have great ideas, I will listen and hear you out always. We work and live together; talking to each other and helping out in camp as much as in land, will make this team stronger and give us a much better chance at making some good money. Everyone has an important and crucial role.
Fun. I will show up everyday with a smile on my face, ready to bring the best out of everybody. We have the chance to work in a place where you can laugh all day long, I won't let this opportunity slip away.
What I expect from you:
Teamwork : everyone should be doing their part, whether it is loading boxes with the crew or helping out during camp move. If you don’t know what to do, ask someone or start picking up garbage
Improvement : Take pride in your work, everyday you should think about what slowed you down or what you can improve tomorrow. Small steps taken daily create the biggest changes over time.
Safety : Safety rules and procedures are often written in blood. This job is no exception, make sure you pay close attention to anything regarding safety. Take care of your friends
Fun : enjoy this summer as much as you can. before you realise it you’ll be flying back wishing you laughed more on the block or spent more time around the campfire singing songs
