About Me:
Howdy, I’m Aiden! I’m from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and grew up camping, playing sports, and spending time doing anything I found interesting or challenging. I had heard about tree planting for a few years, and in 2023 I finally decided to take on the opportunity. I quickly realized how right it felt to be out in the middle of nowhere, traveling through some of the most beautiful and charming areas of Canada while pushing myself both mentally and physically each day. The people, the nature, the great meals, and the strong sense of pride I take in my work ethic day in and day out have kept me coming back. Now, I’m excited to head back into the bush for my fourth season. |
Industry Experience:
I spent my first three seasons planting while steadily taking on new responsibilities. I’ve been a driver each year, camp first-aider, and an assistant crewboss under my sensei/crewboss. These additional roles, along with the guidance and experience I gained, have prepared me to step into my first year running my own crew of truly excellent people.
Expectations from planters:
My expectation of planters is that each day you head out ready to take on whatever challenges the job demands – and it certainly will demand a lot. In return, I will see to it that I do everything I can to ensure you feel safe, supported, and fully equipped to succeed. I want to see every individual achieve the goals they’ve set for themselves.
Teamwork - To quote High School Musical, “we’re all in this together.” When we work as a team, we grow, learn, and know our crew has our backs.
Work Ethic - Tree planting isn’t easy, so if you commit to the season, you should come prepared to give your full effort. Understand what motivates you and let that drive you forward.
Respect - Even though we’re in the middle of nowhere, we still have to behave like human beings and have some decency and respect for one another.
Fun - We like it, and we will most certifiably have it.
What you can expect from me
My job as crew boss is to keep my crew safe and set them up for success.
Safety- This job is a lot, and your safety is the most important to me, they don’t call me First Aiden for nothing, so that being said, I will be there to help.
Work Ethic - I am going to be given’er all season, so let's work hard.
Communication - I want to make sure the crew knows what's going on and communicate with everyone clearly and effectively.
Work Culture - I will foster a crew where people feel motivated and supported every day, where hard work, enjoyment, and mutual respect is found in everybody
