About me
I grew up in Edmonton surrounded by people who enjoy hiking, skiing, and snowboarding, and just generally being outside. I love being outside. After staring a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (a.k.a. becoming confined to my room forever to study) I started to miss the outdoors, so I decided to start tree planting after my first year. Planting is something that has given me the opportunity to make up for time I spend every year studying indoors and has rewarded me with many new friends and has allowed me to grow as a person. Tree planting has changed me so much for the better and my goal is to give others this opportunity as well. |
Industry experience
I have 4 seasons under my belt. Last season I was given the opportunity to be an Assistant Crew Boss and learned a lot about what it takes to run a crew of my own. I was also involved in rookie training for 3 seasons which has allowed me to share my passion for teaching and helping people around me to improve their skills and grow. This will be my first season as a Crew Boss and I’m excited to bring some awesome new faces into the bush with me.
What I expect from my planters:
Tree planting is hard so I’m looking for people who are willing to put in the work for a challenging but rewarding summer. These are some important traits to have:

What I expect from my planters:
Tree planting is hard so I’m looking for people who are willing to put in the work for a challenging but rewarding summer. These are some important traits to have:
- Work ethic – I need you to give 100% every day on the block! Someone with a strong work ethic that values the challenge and is motivated to push themselves to find their limits is the type of person that will excel in tree planting.
- Motivation – motivation is one of the hardest things to maintain throughout the season. I will do my best to motivate my planters but when planting gets hard, I also need my planters to dig deep and find the motivation that they need to push through the hard times.
- Positivity – tree planting is hard and having the ability to remain positive and to look forward to each planting day can determine your success in a season. We’re going to plant so many trees and I’m already stoked!
- Teamwork – tree planting is not a job where you can work on your own. Teamwork is essential in our success as a crew and will help to maintain a positive and healthy atmosphere.
- Fun! – tree planting can be so much fun. Even the hard days can be fun! It’s important to me that we make time for some fun during the season so make sure that you bring board games and other activities that you enjoy!
What my planters can expect from me:
- Safety – safety is very important! I need you all to be happy and healthy all season.
- Organization – time is money! I will always have a plan to make sure that you have the best opportunity to make the most of the day.
- Problem solving – I love problem solving – this has been one of my favourite parts about planting. When things go wrong, you can expect that I will always have a plan b,c,d,e…
- Support – I will have your best intentions at heart and will always do my very best to help you succeed. Since this is challenging work and we will all be pushing ourselves to continuously improve, I will be there to support you in every way that I can.
- Goal attainment – it is my job to help you meet your goals throughout the season and I will always do my best to help you meet them. I want to help you plant more trees than you think is possible and make so much money!
