About Me: I was born and raised on a farm just north of Barrie, ON where I quickly became addicted to the outdoors, hard work and competitive sports. This led me to the University of Guelph where I studied and recently finished my bachelor’s in environmental science. Like most university students, I was trying to pay tuition when a friend introduced me to planting and I was immediately hooked. I thought growing up on a farm would have prepared me, but I soon knew that planting is both the toughest and most rewarding job you can have. Planting allowed me to test my work ethic, push my body and create lifelong friends all well making good money. I keep coming back because planting enables me to travel, pick up new hobbies and meet new people. This season will bring new challenges for me and I hope to learn and create the most lucrative and fun season for my crew.

Planting History
I have planted for three seasons with Summit and this will be my fourth as a crew boss. In my last season as a planter I was a rookie trainer, driver and foreman in training until I eventually ran a small crew for the last month of the season. This allowed me to get my feet wet and gain an understanding of how to interact with my planters, how to efficiently manage a crew and how to maximize my crew's profit and fun. I think this time with Summit has set me up for a successful rookie foreman season. Its been an amazing ride ever since!
What I expect from my planters
What to expect from me
- Competitive (AAA) hockey and baseball
- Pickup sport with friends (basketball, golf etc.…)
- Travelling
- Snowmobiling
- Hiking, Scrambling, Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking, Fishing
- Drawing/ Harmonica

What I expect from my planters
- Effort/Goals: Planters should have long and short-term goals as motivation. You should try to plant 100 more trees than yesterday, I don’t care if you aren’t the crew highballer if you give 110% every day to become a better planter.
- Help the crew: a crew that works together stays together. That means helping load trees, keeping your cache clean etc. Everyone needs to do their part for the crew to function
- Be on Time: sleeping in 10 minutes might seem nice to one planter, but everyone wants to highball and it not fair for them to have to wait for you. Time is money.
- Communication/Attitude: no question is a dumb one, I want each of my planters to feel free to ask me anything. I also expect a positive attitude and manners towards everyone in camp.
What to expect from me
- Prepared/On Time: It is my priority that no planters will ever have to wait for me because it is unfair to waste precious planting time if I’m unprepared.
- Safety: Every decision I make will be towards the safest possible solution for all planters so that they can ball out and have fun
- Attitude: I will never be disrespectful, arrogant or selfish in any way. It is important to me to lead by example and make my planters feel comfortable and free to have fun
- Effort: I will give everything I have to ensure that my planter and myself enjoy this season and its profits to the fullest.
